These extensions are meant to be used with vlc 0.8.5, downloadable from 
http://www.videolan.org/

The libx11_plugin.dylib file is a VLC video output plugin, that must
be placed in the /Applications/VLC.app directory.

The vlc.so file is a python plugin allowing to control VLC, that must
be placed in the advene/lib directory (that also contains the advene/
and simpletal/ subdirectories).
